About the role

As the Business Manager, you will be crucial in delivering the Observatory’s workplan. You will manage various tasks to ensure the smooth running of our business, contracting, and finance functions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight and management of the Observatory’s Business Support Unit.
  • Developing and supporting effective processes for internal management
  • Contributing to organisational performance reporting
  • Supporting the Observatory’s senior leadership team
  • Oversight of internal governance procedures
  • Budget management and financial overview, in support of the Deputy Chief Executive
  • Project management

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Demonstrable experience of managing financial processes and contract management.
  • Budget management and forecasting experience.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate financial information in a range of ways to a range of audiences including the board, senior managers, and staff.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
